July Events, Bookshop.org and More

July is here and we have tons of fun events, exciting announcements, and new books and products to feature!

July, the Heart of Summer

We'll have our usual hours through the month of July except for July 4th, when we will be closed for a family day.

But we've got some great events this month that we hope you'll join us for!

On July 13th we have our regularly scheduled meeting of The Enchanted Books Society Book Club from 1pm - 3pm. Take a look at what book they'll be discussing here on our website! And don't forget to pre-order your book for August's book club here!

July 17th from 5pm - 7pm is our next  Under The Canopy Writers’ Group meeting. Aspiring writers, this is the group for you! Find more details here.

July 26th from 2pm - 5pm, join us for our Crystals & Covers event! Purchase a book or journal from Spellbound Books and decorate the cover with tiny crystals, adding sparkle to your new read! More details and event tickets available here.

On July 31st, we have our Pop In & Create event with Rainbow Trout Lab! This is a great creative event for kids through adults. The guardians of creative kiddos can enjoy a coffee and relax while their young ones unleash their artistic spirits. More information is available here.

The last week of every month we have our Book Buy Back. Books must be undamaged, smoke free and have been published within the last two years to be considered for buy back.

If you're looking for the annual Dragon Readers' Retreat, it has been rescheduled for October. If you're interested, find the details here!

Announcements

We've been working on setting up our storefront on BookShop.org, and we've finally done it! If you prefer to order books online, including ebooks, you can support Spellbound Books by choosing us as your bookshop on BookShop.org. Just follow our link here: bookshop.org/shop/spellboundowego

Unfamiliar with BookShop.org? Like Amazon, when you order a book, your new read is shipped straight to your door. Unlike Amazon, the full profit from your purchase is sent to your chosen bookstore, keeping your local bookshop in business! It's an easy way to support your favorite local bookstore while enjoying the convenience of online shopping.

Do you prefer listening to audiobooks? You can also support Spellbound Books by choosing us on Libro.fm! This is a great alternative to Audible, and like BookShop.org, a portion of every purchase is paid to your favorite independent bookstore. Support us on Libro.fm here!

Featured Books

We're on a bit of a nettle kick here at Spellbound! From processing nettle fibers, to harvesting and cooking with this magical plant, we have books to guide you on your journey to learning more! There's even a book of poems, so we know we're not the only ones in love with this feisty, fibrous plant.

Featured Product

We have some beautiful new art prints in the shop!

Abi is a local artist who grew here in the Southern Tier. She graduated with her bachelors in pre-art therapy and will be pursuing her masters this fall. These wonderful prints are from her senior show this past spring where she connected snails to slowing down and appreciating the small moments in life. Order a latte from Abi this summer and browse her beautiful art prints at Spellbound!

Jenn's Potionarium

We're excited to introduce a new blog on our website, Jenn's Potionarium! Read along as Jenn shares her herbal wisdom and try out recipes for potions and remedies you can source the ingredients for yourself!

Her first entry features a plant many have likely seen but never considered anything more than a weed. Do you have the ingredients for a potion growing in your yard? Head to Jenn's Potionarium to find out more about magical Mugwort!

We hope you enjoy reading our monthly newsletter and keeping up with what's going on at Spellbound Books!

Have a magical month!
